Overview

Vessel Sizer covers the two vessel calculations industrial refrigeration designers make most: gravity separators sized by Souders-Brown vapor velocity, and receivers sized for system charge with surge allowance — for vertical and horizontal orientations, with standard shell diameters and 2:1 semi-elliptical heads.

How to use it

   Click Vessel Sizer on the RIME ribbon (Refrigeration panel).

   For a separator: enter load, suction temperature, and orientation, then review sizes.

   For a receiver: enter system charge, fill fraction, and surge on the Receiver tab.

   Pick a standard diameter — the required shell length and L/D flag update per size.
