Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Rime Engineering LLC, a Washington limited liability company (“RIME,” “we,” “us”), and govern your use of the RIME plugin for Autodesk® Revit® (the “Plugin”), the rimeengineer.com website and customer portal (the “Portal”), and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, installing the Plugin, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

RIME is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Autodesk, Inc. Autodesk and Revit are registered trademarks of Autodesk, Inc.

You need an account to download the Plugin and to use licensed features. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and notify us promptly at hello@rimeengineer.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. The Service is intended for professional use by adults; you must be at least 18 to create an account.

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Plugin for your internal business purposes. Free-tier tools may be used without a paid subscription.

Paid plans are licensed per seat. A seat may be used by one named user and may be activated on a limited number of devices; license enforcement uses signed device tokens issued by the Portal, and licensed features may stop working if a device cannot revalidate within the offline grace period. You may not share, sublicense, rent, resell, or provide the Plugin as a service bureau; reverse engineer, decompile, or bypass license enforcement (except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by law); or use the Service to build a competing product.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or annually) until canceled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details. Prices are listed on the Portal and may change with at least 30 days’ notice, taking effect at your next renewal. Applicable sales tax is added where required. Trials convert to paid plans only if you subscribe; we may modify or end trial offers at any time.

You can cancel anytime from your account’s billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. If you believe a charge is in error, contact us at hello@rimeengineer.com within 30 days and we will work with you in good faith.

The Plugin produces engineering calculations, sizing aids, and documentation tools. It is a productivity aid — not a substitute for professional engineering judgment. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and approving all outputs before relying on them, for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, and for all designs, documents, and decisions produced with the Service. Where a license is required to perform engineering work, outputs must be reviewed by an appropriately licensed professional.

Your Revit models and project data remain yours and stay on your machine — the Plugin does not upload model content to us. The Service, including the Plugin, Portal, and all related software, designs, and branding, is owned by Rime Engineering LLC and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.

You may not misuse the Service — including interfering with its operation, probing or breaching its security, using another user’s license, submitting unlawful content through the Portal, or using automated means to scrape or overload the Service.

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Licensed features include an offline grace period so short outages do not interrupt your work. We may modify the Service (including adding, changing, or retiring tools) and will not materially reduce the core functionality of your paid plan during a paid term without notice. Plugin compatibility targets the Revit versions listed on the Portal; we do not guarantee compatibility with every Revit version or configuration.

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms (including non-payment or license abuse), with notice where practicable. Sections 5, 6, 10, 11, and 12 survive termination.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY OF RESULTS, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RIME WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR DESIGN ERRORS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON UNVERIFIED OUTPUTS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE (OR $50 IF YOU USE ONLY FREE FEATURES). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in King County, Washington have exclusive jurisdiction, and each party consents to venue there. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give notice (for example by email or a Portal notice) before they take effect; continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The current version is always at rimeengineer.com/terms.
