Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Rime Engineering LLC (“RIME,” “we”) collects when you use the RIME plugin for Autodesk® Revit® and the rimeengineer.com portal, and how we use it. The short version: we collect what we need to run accounts, licensing, and billing; your Revit models and project data never leave your machine, and we do not sell personal data or run advertising trackers.

Account information. Name, email address, and organization details you provide at signup. Authentication is handled by AWS Cognito; we never see or store your password in plaintext.

Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status, plan, and billing country/tax details; we do not receive or store full card numbers.

License and activation data. To enforce per-seat licensing, the Plugin sends the Portal your account identity, a device identifier, and the Plugin and Revit version when it activates or revalidates a license.

Tool usage.The Plugin reports which RIME tool was run (the tool identifier, plugin version, and Revit version) so we can understand what’s used and improve the product. This telemetry never includes your model geometry, project content, file names, or calculation inputs/outputs.

Website data. Standard server logs (IP address, pages requested) and error reports, kept within our AWS hosting infrastructure. Support email you send to hello@rimeengineer.com is kept as correspondence.

The Plugin does not upload Revit models, project files, drawings, calculation results, or any design content. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

To provide and secure the Service (accounts, license enforcement, downloads), process payments and taxes, respond to support requests, monitor errors and abuse, understand aggregate feature usage, and send transactional email (verification codes, password resets, receipts, and important service notices). We do not send marketing email without your consent.

The Portal uses essential cookies only: encrypted, HTTP-only session cookies that keep you signed in. There are no third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

Service providers who process data on our behalf, under their own contractual and security obligations: Amazon Web Services (hosting, authentication, storage, and email delivery and error monitoring) and Stripe (payments and tax). We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy continues to apply until amended with notice).

Account and license records are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax, and audit purposes. To delete your account and associated personal data, email hello@rimeengineer.com — we will confirm and complete deletion except where retention is legally required (e.g., billing records).

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at hello@rimeengineer.com to exercise them; we respond to all verified requests regardless of jurisdiction.

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest on managed AWS infrastructure with role-restricted access. License tokens are cryptographically signed. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by law.

The Service is for professional use and not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
